First day off from work

Woke up to the whir of the rickety electric fan and the dank, graying embrace of the room.

Today is the first day after I threw in the towel to my new job.

Funny. You’d think at my age I won’t have the youthful gumption anymore. But, you see, we woke up a little later today - 325p.m. So, I guess you’re thinking we’re dead serious about not going back to work.

Going past progressive, I think we are in for a longish haul.

Ten minutes into a serious thought about the grim prospects now opening up in front of me, with the din of rain pattering on the roof, suddenly it occurs to me that I had underwears which I have forgotten under the sagging eaves.

Crispy now from the sun, wind, dust and cat’s hair, the whitish fabric are now tinged with orangey spots around the areas where balls and thighs rub each other.

I could use a walk.
